Best Practices to Use Twitter for Marketing Your Business

Table of Contents

twitter for marketingAs you know are doubt aware of, Twitter is one of the fastest growing marketing tools there is. However, since using Twitter for marketing is a relatively new practice, there is a lot debate about the best ways to use it effectively. In order to make it easier for you, we have broken it down into a few helpful tips.

Tweet Often

Aim for three to four Tweets a day. This hits the sweet spot of posting regularly enough to keep followers interested but not so much that it seems like spam and gets ignored.

Make Useful Tweets

While you want to Tweet often, you do not want to Tweet things that aren’t compelling or informative. Tweeting about irrelevant things will only convince your followers to not read your Tweets.

Run a Promotion

Having a contest or promotion helps bring in new followers as well as encourages the ones you have to engage with you more.

Watch Your Hashtags

Using one or two per Tweet will help get your followers interest. Anything more and it just looks like clutter.

Use Pictures

Since you usually have to follow a link to see a picture you may think that they wouldn’t be effective. In fact the opposite is true. Pictures typically double the engagement rate of Tweets.

New Tweet, New Name

If you are going to insert the same link to a piece of content in different Tweets, make sure to change its name. That way it doesn’t look like you are taking the lazy approach to posting Tweets.

Don’t Be Afraid to Ask

A simple RT (Retweet) is a great call to action. Asking to Retweet really will improve your Retweet rate.
