Consistency is key when it comes to content marketing. Once you have started a blog for your business, it is very important to keep up with posts and continue to regularly write and publish. Not only should you maintain a schedule for blogging, but also set aside some time to engage with commenters and strategize to improve the quality of your content.

Not tracking results

A common issue among companies with an inbound marketing strategy is not keeping track of the analytics to support the content being delivered. Continuing to review the analytics associated with your strategy will help improve it, and inform you of what’s working and what’s not. It helps gear your focus towards topics, content, and keywords that are helping you bring in more leads.

One-time keyword research

Search engine algorithms change often, causing search results to fluctuate from day to day. In order to keep up with these changes, it may be beneficial to do a simple keyword research of your already chosen words. By doing this, you can see which words are being searched more often, and what type of competition is increasing or decreasing for your relevant words. Continuously keeping up with keywords at least once every 2-3 weeks, will keep your inbound marketing strategy in sync and keep your content showing up on search engines.

Staying on top of your strategies will help lead you to your ultimate goal whether it be attracting leads or simply providing value content to your readers. By avoiding these mistakes, you will be able to implement a successful inbound marketing strategy, and grow your business.
